Introduction
The main purpose of the International PR Conference in Iran which would be held
for the seventh year, is to create an opportunity for all PR experts and
students in Iran to exchange their opinions on different forms of public
relations including management, crisis communication, social responsibility, new
media, cooperative communication, human communication, respecting clients,
general problems and issues, reputation management etc.
Therefore, the Conference tries to contribute to the establishment and
development of scientific and up-to-date entities in the industry through annual
meetings, courses, education and research.
Why media relations?
KPR Institute holds the 7th International PR Conference on Oct. 30-31, 2011 in
Iran. This two-day conference gathers PR experts together from all over the
country.
One of the most memorable moments of the Conference is awarding Iran’s Best PR
Institute Prize, Dr. Notghi Prize, educational prizes and National PR Prize.
These prizes are awarded annually to people and PR institutes that have been
effective in promoting ethics and social responsibility.
Navigating Media Relations; Variation, Challenge, Effect is the subject matter
chosen by the Conference Permanent Secretariat for the 7th International PR
Conference which would be able to make a sea change in every aspect of
communication. There is huge responsibility on the shoulders of the State
communicators. Besides removing the obstacles between the media and public
relations, they should enhance people’s self-confidence so that encounter the
existing challenges.
Therefore, media relations needs to change its attitude. Establishing relations
and dialogues with media people and PR experts is a great opportunity and needs
to shift from traditional view to newer strategies.
Conference Programs
-Presenting selected papers
-Keynote speech by senior authorities and Iranian and foreign guests
-Publishing the Conference papers collection, multimedia and special edition
-Holding the best PR festival, awarding PR prizes in two level of Tehran and
provinces and expressing its gratitude to the vanguards of public relations in
Iran
-Introducing the best entities in information area in Iran
-Awarding educational prize for the first time to PR deans, PR instructors and
PR students
-Awarding the National PR Prize for the first time
-Holding specialized meeting in presence of PR experts
-Drafting PR Development outlook (structure of opportunities and threats –
professional ethics)
-Launching Iran’s PR Information Network (www.shara.ir)
-Holding specialized PR exhibition
-Presenting successful experience of PR institutes in information and media
communication
-Handing out 200 scientific article published in accredit publications and
journals on CD
-Awarding KPRI certificate signed by the scientific committee (delegates of
Tehran, Allame Tabatabyi, Imam Sadegh, and Azad Islamic Universities, and IRIB
and Soure Faculties) to the attendees
-Speeches are translated simultaneously.
Call for papers: Navigating
Media Relations; Variation, Challenge, Effect
The 7th International PR Conference is hosted by KPRI, PR and communication
faculties and universities.
The scientific committee calls for paper on the following subject matters:
·Innovative methods for creating and maintaining powerful media relations
·Media relations management through innovative approaches
·Updating in media relations and grasping on new opportunities
·Identifying golden opportunities in digital media
·A major initiative in media relations: case searching
Conference format
This two-day Conference includes speeches, educational workshop and posters. It
would be appreciated to identify the kind of program you would like to present
in the Conference. The organizing committee has every right to identify the kind
of presentations. See the latest information in Conference website.
1. Speeches. The time allocated to speech and Q&A is 20 to 40 minutes. Speeches
will be categorized by the administrative committee.
2.Posters. Posters will be put up in a special place in the Conference Hall.
Posters should be made by the participator. Participators will be notified of
the size and format of the posters after jury’s decision.
3.Educational workshops. Workshops should be about a subject matter of the
Conference and take at maximum 3 hours. The instructor should posses the
necessary skills and notifies the secretariat of his program including workshop
subject matter, target groups, maximum attendees and his required material.
Special programs
PR managers and experts are invited to share their experience in form of papers:
1.The best professional experience.
2.Initiative development of media relations.
3.Doctoral theses on media relations.
Paper and abstract submission
Attendees are asked to submit an abstract of about 400 words of their paper and
a brief biography in Persian and English before June 15 to info@iranpr.org or
kargozar80@yahoo.com. Best papers would be published in Conference papers
collection. All submitted papers will be judged by a jury board and Conference
scientific committee. For further information please visit our site at
www.icpr.ir.
·The submitted papers should be about a subject matter of the Conference.
·Papers which have been published or submitted to a conference would not be
accepted.
·The reference list should appear at the end of the paper.
·Papers should be 15 pages (maximum) and the abstract should be about 400 words.
·Abstracts and papers should be submitted before June 15 and August 21
respectively.
·Papers should be submitted to the Secretariat in Word XP format with Nazanin 14
font on CD.

of information and media relations (new ideas in media communication)
·Discussing challenges and threats in information area in presence of PR
institutes and media delegates
